DUA ("the app") is developed by Evolved Gorillas LLC. We built DUA so that it works without accounts and without collecting personal data. This policy explains what little data the app handles and where it goes.

Data stored on your device only

Your settings (city, calculation method, madhab, name, avatar), prayer statistics, XP, streaks, quiz results, Quran reading and listening positions, your Hijri date correction, and your AI chat history are stored locally on your device using the system's standard preference storage. There are no accounts, and we hold no user data on any server. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

AI assistant

When you send a message to the DUA AI assistant, the text of your conversation is transmitted to a Cloudflare Worker we operate and forwarded to OpenAI to generate a response. The Worker exists so the OpenAI key is never shipped inside the app. We do not store your messages and we do not read them. A randomly generated, anonymous device identifier is sent with each request solely to enforce the daily message limit; it is not linked to your identity.

Location

If you allow location access, your coordinates are used on your device to find the nearest city, calculate prayer times, and point the Qibla compass. Your location is never sent to our servers.

Quran content

Quran text, translations, and audio recitations are streamed from third-party services (alquran.cloud and cdn.islamic.network). Like any internet request, these services receive your IP address when content is downloaded.

Feedback form

If you use the in-app feedback form, the name, subject, and message you enter are delivered to us via Formspree so we can respond to you. Nothing is sent unless you submit the form.

Notifications

Prayer notifications are scheduled locally on your device, and the azans and tones you can choose between are bundled inside the app. No notification data leaves your device.

Timetable export

A weekly or monthly prayer timetable can be exported as a PDF. The file is generated on your device and goes wherever you send it. We never see it.

What we don't do

• No user accounts, no registration
• No advertising, no ad networks
• No analytics or tracking SDKs
• No sale or sharing of personal data with third parties

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
